Telemundo has promoted Johanna Guerra to VP of network news, effective immediately. The move puts her in joint control of the Spanish-language network news division with Guillermo Santa Cruz, who was named VP of special projects, news and sports last year.

Both will continue to report to Jorge Hidalgo, senior executive VP of news and sports.

Ms. Guerra previously was executive producer of Telemundo newsmagazine “Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste.” She came to Telemundo as an MSNBC producer who was part of the integration team after NBC bought Telemundo. Earlier she was an executive producer for Telemundo-owned WNJU-TV in New York.
