Two days after Kyra Phillips was overhead dissing her “control freak” sister-in-law during coverage of a speech by President Bush, she will make an appearance on tonight’s “Late Show With David Letterman” to do the “Top Ten List” at 11:35 p.m. (ET).

A spokeswoman for the CBS late-night show said producers still had not decided on the topic of the list by early afternoon.

CNN viewers heard Ms. Phillips talking to an unidentified colleague in the ladies’ room after she left the CNN afternoon anchor desk, not knowing her microphone was still on. Newspapers, Web sites and other TV outlets had a field day with the embarrassing moment.

CNN blamed the gaffe on technical malfunction on the audio board and said Ms. Phillips was not at fault.
