‘ElimiDate’ to End Production; ‘Blind Date’ Into Reruns

The bloom is off syndicated dating shows, with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution ending production on its series “ElimiDate” and NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution confirming it is only airing repeats of “Blind Date” for the 2006-07 season.

“Blind Date” has been cleared in 90 percent of the U.S. for next season, but will run only repeats from the first seven seasons of the series.

Neither company would comment on their respective dating series.

“ElimiDate’s” demise didn’t come as much of a surprise, considering the show’s lackluster ratings and executive producer Alex Duda’s migration to Warner Bros.’ “The Tyra Banks Show” earlier this year.
