Hearst-Argyle Television announced Wednesday it has hired veteran local news director Jacques Natz as director of digital media content. Terry Mackin, the executive VP who heads Hearst-Argyle’s digital media initiatives, said Mr. Natz will report Oct. 2.
Mr. Natz is coming from WTHR-TV, the Dispatch Broadcast Group-owned NBC affiliate in Indianapolis. In his decade as news director there, he built the market’s dominant news operation that earned six Edward R. Murrow awards, a National Headliner Grand Award for documentary work and a duPont-Columbia award.
He developed a newsgathering partnership between WTHR and the Indianapolis Star, one of the first such arrangements in the country, and launched the station’s Web site along with a local weather channel.
