NBC is developing a reality series, “The Real Wedding Crashers,” inspired by the 2005 New Line Cinema comedy feature film “The Wedding Crashers.”

The series will be produced by New Line Television and Ashton Kutcher’s (“Punk’d”) Katalyst Films and will feature hidden cameras that will record improvisational actors who go undercover at real weddings. No premiere date has been set.

Mr. Kutcher, his producing partner Jason Goldberg and Karey Burke will executive produce the six-episode series along with New Line’s Jon Kroll (“Amazing Race,” “Amish in the City”) and Jim Rosenthal (“Blade”).

“Everyone loved ‘Wedding Crashers’ and we wanted to see if we could capture that same kind of inspired frivolity in a real-life series,” Craig Plestis, senior VP of alternative programming, development and specials for NBC Entertainment, said in a statement.
