Woods’ Golf Performance Sends CBS Sports Ratings Skyward

Tiger Woods’ dominant play in the PGA Championship helped drive ratings for CBS Sports over the weekend to their highest levels since 2002.

Ratings for the final round of the tournament on Sunday were the highest since 2002, averaging a 7.2 rating and a 15 share, up 22 percent from last year, according to Nielsen Media Research.

Ratings were up 18 percent for CBS Sports’ two-day coverage as Mr. Woods claimed his 12th career major tournament victory. Final-round coverage ratings peaked with an 8.7/17 from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (ET) as Mr. Woods closed out the last few holes and received the trophy.
