ABC Top Net in Demo for First Week of Season

ABC was the No. 1 network in adults 18 to 49 for the week ended Sept. 24, the first week of the 2006-07 season, while CBS was tops in total viewers.

ABC also had the top-rated show for the week in adults 18 to 49 with the Thursday season premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy,” which scored an 11.0 rating, which includes live viewing and same-day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The season premiere of Sunday’s “Desperate Housewives” on ABC was second for the week with a 9.6 rating, followed by CBS’s season premiere of “CSI” (7.7) and NBC’s “ER” (6.8).

In total viewers, “Grey’s” was tops with 25.4 million, followed by “Housewives” (24.1 million), “CSI” (22.6 million) and ABC’s Tuesday edition of reality series “Dancing With the Stars” (18.2 million).

ABC won the week with an average 4.4 in adults 18 to 49, followed by NBC (4.0), CBS (3.9), Fox (3.0), Univision (1.6), The CW (1.2) and Telemundo (0.4).

In total viewers CBS garnered 13 million, followed by ABC (12.3 million), NBC (11.0 million), Fox (7.5 million), Univision (3.5 million), the CW (2.8 million) and Telemundo (940,000).

MyNetworkTV’s national ratings for the week ended Sept. 24 will not be available until Thursday.
