ABC won a repeat-laden Friday night in adults 18 to 49 with the time period premiere of its romantic one-hour “Men in Trees” and an original episode of newsmagazine “20/20.”

At 9 p.m. (ET), an original episode of “Trees” scored a 2.2 preliminary national rating in adults 18 to 49, a number that includes live viewing plus same-day viewing via digital video recorders, according to Nielsen Media Research. That was down 4 percent from the year-ago time period premiere of canceled comedy “Hope & Faith” (2.3) and down 39 percent from “Trees'” special premiere last Tuesday at 10 p.m. “Trees” managed to secure the No. 2 spot for the night in adults 18 to 49, behind its 10 p.m. lead-out “20/20” (2.6). At 8 p.m., a repeat of the “Trees” pilot that originally aired Tuesday scored a 1.5 rating.

On Fox, at 8 p.m. the second episode of the new season of “Nanny 911” scored a 1.4 in adults 18 to 49, which was even with its performance the previous week. At 9 p.m. the results show for “Celebrity Duets” scored a 1.6 rating, up 7 percent from its time period premiere the previous week.

ABC was No.1 for the night in adults 18 to 49 with a 2.1, with an all-repeat CBS in second with a 1.7. NBC (“Dateline” and repeats) and Fox tied for third place, both with a 1.5.
