In a broadcast-DVR first, CBS Television is partnering with digital video recorder service TiVo to premiere the debut episode of the network’s new comedy “The Class” to TiVo subscribers a week before its broadcast television premiere on Monday, Sept. 18.

“CBS’s partnership with TiVo is a creative new way to use DVR technology to help drive television network viewing,” said CBS Marketing Group President George Schweitzer in a statement.

In addition to viewing “The Class,” TiVo’s more than 4 million subscribers will be able to view sneak preview clips and receive exclusive footage and information on CBS’s new dramas “Jericho,” “Smith” and “Shark.”

Marking another first for TiVo, subscribers will be able to record the premieres of all four shows with one remote click.
