Gillman to Replace Fischer at TW Cable Media Sales

Joan Gillman has been named corporate senior VP and president of media sales for Time Warner Cable, replacing industry veteran Larry Fischer.

Time Warner Cable said Mr. Fischer, who has been with the cable operator since 1988, has decided to explore other professional options. He will help with the transition for the next few months.

Ms. Gillman had been VP of interactive TV and advanced advertising for TW Cable. “Joan is the architect of our advanced advertising strategy,” said Landel Hobbs, chief operating officer. “She has helped make Time Warner Cable the industry leader in terms of interactive TV offerings.

Prior to joining TW Cable, Ms. Gillman worked with OpenTV, British Interactive Broadcasting and Physicians Online. She will report to Mr. Hobbs and be based in New York.
