TiVo-GroupM Pact Includes DVR Platform Advertising

TiVo said Thursday that WPP’s GroupM media agencies have agreed to buy a minimum amount of advertising on TiVo’s digital video recorder platform.

As part of the agreement, each agency in GroupM’s network will be able to offer its clients pre-negotiated pricing to encourage use of TiVo’s interactive advertising products. TiVo and GroupM have also agreed to design a custom application for one advertiser to drive commerce.

TiVo will also provide GroupM with research intended to help its clients engage their target audience.

TiVo has signed similar deals recently with media agencies owned by Interpublic Group of Cos. and Omnicom.
