USA Network has renewed freshman detective drama “Psych” for 16 episodes and veteran supernatural drama “The Dead Zone” for 13 episodes, a person familiar with the matter said.

Along with previously announced pickups for “The 4400” and “Monk,” the renewals mean USA will bring back its entire summer slate of original dramas.

Though the audience for “Psych” fell off from its spectacular 6.2 million premiere, the season stabilized at a still-large 5.1 million viewers (2.2 million in the 18 to 49 age group).

“The Dead Zone” was a tougher call for the network.

The most recent season averaged 2.8 million viewers (1.5 million 18 to 49), which is about even with the channel’s median viewership for third quarter and a fall from the series’ first-season high of 4.3 million average viewers. The series is important to USA partly because it’s paired with similarly supernatural-themed “The 4400” on Sunday nights.
