ABC widened its margin of victory in the television-ratings race in the fifth week of the fall season, with a broader lead on second-place CBS and Fox thanks to “Dancing With the Stars” and veteran dramas including “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Fueled by top-ranked “Grey’s” as well as “Dancing,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Lost,” the Alphabet Network took the top spot for the fifth consecutive period with a 4.0 rating among viewers 18 to 49 in the week ending Oct. 22, according to Nielsen Media Research.

CBS’s lineup of police and legal procedural dramas led the week in total viewers. CBS and Fox tied for second in the 18 to 49 demographic with 3.8. Fox was helped by the first two games of the World Series, as well as Game 7 of the National League Championship Series baseball playoffs.

That left NBC back in fourth place with 3.2 rating in the 18 to 49 age group. The CW posted a 1.5.
