Production shop FremantleMedia teamed up to create mobile phone video content with cell phone video aggregator Mobliss in a deal that kicks in Monday. The two partners introduced a mobile channel called “Atomic Wedgie” that includes original programming and content from the FremantleMedia library. The service starts Monday on Sprint for $4.95 per month.

Fremantle will draw from its library of more than 9,000 hours of TV content to create original material for the mobile channel and will also work with third-party producers to bring new shorts to the service.

The mobile channel consists of short-form videos targeting the 18 to 34 male demographic, with titles such as “Baywatch Babes,” “Bush Bites” and “Famous Farts in History.”

FremantleMedia is best known as the producer of “American Idol” as well as “Baywatch.” Fremantle and Mobliss joined forces previously to introduce text-message voting on “American Idol,” one of the most widely used cellular services connected with a TV show.
