Steve Koonin has been named president of Turner Entertainment Networks, adding Turner Classic Movies and Court TV to his responsibilities.

Mr. Koonin had been executive VP and general manager of TNT and TBS. He continues to report to Mark Lazarus, president of Turner Entertainment Group.

In the new structure, Tom Karsch, executive VP and general manager of TCM, Marc Juris, general manager of programming and marketing for Court TV and Marlene Dann, executive VP of daytime and news programming for Court TV will report to Mr. Koonin.

“The successful re-branding of TNT and TBS are direct reflections of Steve’s strategic vision, executional excellence and leadership ability,” Mr. Lazarus said in a statement Tuesday. “The addition of TCM and Court TV to his oversight indicates our regard for his skill as an executive and further positions these valuable assets within the Turner Entertainment Networks portfolio, where they can be leveraged for continued growth alongside TNT and TBS on both linear and digital platforms.”
