TelevisionWeek is trawling video-sharing Web sites to find the hottest clips spreading on the Internet.
The setup: Quick-name the copyright date on Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War.” According to a University of Florida professor, “You can’t check the copyright because he didn’t copyright the damn thing!” That was among the peppier lines delivered by the professor during a late-September lecture in a business management course that has now made its way onto the Internet because the lecturer was, ahem, a little baked. In fact, after cracking himself up with his copyright comment, he lay on his back on the stage, cackling and rolling with laughter. “Whoa, dude. Code of Hammurabi. I’ve seen this in a British museum” ranked among his other, slightly toasted comments. The university said the professor, John Hall, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
The source: The video comes from the class itself, which was offered online and on-campus.
The hits: By Oct. 5 the video generated more than 540,000 views on Break.com, nearly 37,000 on Google and more than 20,000 on YouTube.
