NBC to Stunt ‘Identity’ Premiere

NBC will premiere “Identity,” its “next-generation game show,” as a five-night stunt during late December.

“Identity” will run Monday, Dec. 18, through Friday, Dec. 22, at 8 p.m. The show, hosted by comedian/magician Penn Jillette, has contestants trying to match 12 strangers to a list of 12 identities and is produced by Reveille (“The Biggest Loser”).

With “Deal or No Deal” and “The Biggest Loser” continuing to be strong performers, NBC is searching for another game show title to fill the 8 p.m. hour. The recently debuted “1 vs. 100” has performed well on Friday nights, but has lost some viewers during its most recent outings.

“‘Identity’ is a next-generation game show about an individual’s ability to read people based off of perception and judgments of others,” said Ben Silverman, executive producer and Reveille’s founder and CEO.
