The National Hockey League has signed a deal to make full-length games and other video available to fans through Google Video.
In addition to current games, which will be shown on a delay, and classic games from the league’s archives, the NHL is working with Google to provide hockey-themed user-generated content.
The content will be offered free and without advertising for the first two weeks of November, the league said in a statement Wednesday. The league did not say what its price point would be after that.
“The combination of our content and Google’s massive reach is a terrific pairing, and we’re excited to add fan-generated content to the mix,” said Keith Ritter, president of NHL Interactive Cyber Enterprises.
