Online video service Revver plans to make its videos available to Verizon V CAST subscribers starting next month.
The deal comes one day after YouTube inked its pact to provide videos to V CAST and adds a new source of content for Verizon phone video customers. The agreements advance Verizon’s attempt to get a leg up on its cellular competitors in offering wireless video.
Verizon will pay Revver a licensing fee. Revver, in turn, will use the same business model that it employs online and will split the net revenue 50/50 with video creators. Under the agreement, Verizon will have a limited exclusivity period as the mobile distributor for Revver’s clips.
Revver will supply videos from categories including Viral Video Classics, Extreme Sports, Animation and others.
