CBS Interactive named former Yahoo business development executive Michael Marquez VP of strategy and corporate development.

He’ll report to Quincy Smith, the newly installed president of the interactive division at CBS that’s responsible for new media strategies and partnerships for the network.

Mr. Marquez, based in San Francisco, will work on overall strategy for the division and as well as investments and acquisitions.

While at Yahoo, he played a role in its acquisitions of companies such as Oddpost and Jumpcut.

He previously was a banker at Robertson Stephens.
