Independent distributor Program Partners is leaving their mark on a slow-moving syndication marketplace, clearing upcoming strip runs of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” in 60 percent of the country including a Tribune Broadcasting group commitment to the show.

“‘Degrassi’ clearly has what broadcasters need in 2007,” said Ritch Colbert, co-founder of Program Partners. “The series not only offers a fresh alternative for early fringe and evening time-periods but is already embraced by critics and has a proven track record.”

The series is now cleared in areas including the top five markets for a fall 2007 launch. Stations on board include outlets from Belo, Clear Channel, Granite, Gray, Hubbard, Pegasus and the CW Plus stations.

The N, the nighttime network for teens from MTV Networks, currently airs the hit teen drama in the U.S. “Degrassi” is the network’s highest-rated, signature series.

Program Partners is marketing “Degrassi: The Next Generation” as an outgrowth of its distribution agreement with Thunderbird Films.
