Mobile Ad Company to Provide User Info to Marketers

Mobile advertising firm Third Screen Media linked up with mobile phone research firm Telephia Monday in a partnership that will provide information on mobile phone users.

The companies have agreed to used Telephia’s research that examines mobile users’ broad interests and preferences in order to provide advertisers with information they can use to plan mobile advertising campaigns.

Under the deal, Third Screen’s advertising clients will have access to Telephia’s market research when buying and planning mobile campaigns. This data, on demographics and interest in mobile services for instance, can also help agencies and publishers target mobile audiences with their campaigns and refine their messages based on the consumer research Telephia has conducted.

The deal underscores the role that advertising is likely to play in the growing mobile video business. The market for mobile advertising in the Unites States last year reached $421 million and should grow to $4.8 billion in 2011, according to market research firm eMarketer.
