Online video technology provider ROO said it has acquired software publishing company MyVideoDaily for $350,000 plus up to 500,000 ROO shares based on reaching certain milestones. ROO will use MyVideoDaily’s search-marketing tools to introduce new users to content, ROO said in a statement.

ROO has worked with MyVideoDaily for more than a year to build additional features for ROO’s video services. ROO said the purchase will allow it to expand MyVideoDaily’s search-marketing capabilities to ROO’s content partners to promote their sites and services.

The deal follows a flurry of activity in the online video business this week, such as online video site Veoh’s partnerships with United Talent Agency and Us magazine, and Brightcove’s news yesterday that it would syndicate video content for MediaLink, which provides news and marketing strategies for corporations.
