“American Idol” continued to show dominance Wednesday night, averaging a 12.1 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary Nielsen Media Research returns. That’s up 1 percent from the previous week’s average. Along with “Bones” (4.1), Fox easily won the night.

ABC was in second place with “George Lopez” (2.6) and “Knights of Prosperity” (1.9) in the 8 p.m. hour, followed by a repeat of “Lost” (2.1). At 10 p.m., a new “Lost” posted a series low (5.6), although it still ranked as the No. 2 show for the night and bested CBS’s “CSI: NY” by 27 percent.

CBS had a “Jericho” clip show (2.1) followed by “Criminal Minds” (4.0), which has seemingly lost its Super Bowl glow, posting its second-lowest rating of the season. “CSI: NY” did a 4.4.

On The CW, “Beauty and the Geek” had its highest-rated season finale ever (1.9), followed by “One Tree Hill” (1.1).
