Trish Regan, who covers U.S. and Latin American issues and policies for CBS News, joined CNBC as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor.

“Trish’s experience and talent make her a great addition to CNBC,” Jonathan Wald, CNBC senior VP for business news, said in the announcement Monday.

Before joining CBS News, Ms. Regan reported for CBS MarketWatch, primarily covering economic policy.

She started her career at Goldman Sachs and D.E. Shaw investment banks. She moved into television with reporting positions at CBS-owned KPIX-TV in San Francisco and Bloomberg Television.
