Midseason freshman series “Rules of Engagement” on CBS and “The Black Donnellys” on NBC slipped a notch in the Nielsen ratings Monday night.

NBC, which won the night, had a strong “Deal or No Deal” (5.4) and “Heroes” (6.6). “Donnellys” then fell slightly from its 3.2 season premiere last week to a 3.0.

On CBS, which came in third, the season finale of “The Class” earned an on-par 3.2, bookended by repeats of “How I Met Your Mother” and “Two and a Half Men.” Without an original “Men” lead-in, new comedy “Rules” fell to 4.3, its lowest rating in five weeks.

Second-place Fox had “Prison Break” (3.9) and “24” (4.9), the latter up a tick from last week.

On fourth-place ABC, a “Wife Swap” repeat led into an on-par “Supernanny” (3.7), followed by “What About Brian (2.2).

On The CW, the comedy block was in repeats.
