Jamie Foxx, Bob Newhart and Larry Miller are among the comedy veterans starring in and/or developing comedy projects for TBS’ increasingly original lineup.

Mr. Foxx, Kenny Smith, Adrienne Lopez and Marcus King are executive producers on a series about a teen NBA rookie. “The Drew Carey Show” alumnus Dave Caplan is developing a series about a woman who maintains her sense of humor despite adversity.

Advertisers at TBS’ upfront presentation Tuesday in New York learned that Mr. Newhart is developing and executive producing a late-night comedy anthology tentatively titled “Bob Newhart: In Search of Comedy.”

Also in the pipeline are a sketch comedy show from former “The Daily Show” associate producer Jenny Hunter, as well as the previously announced sitcom from Mr. Miller and “Just Shoot Me” alumna Eileen Conn, and “The Frank Show” starring Frank Caliendo, this generation’s premier impressionist.

“Our original programming strategy is to entertain the fans of ‘Friends,’ ‘Sex and the City’ and ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ viewers who are looking for humor based on smartly drawn, relatable characters and good storytelling full of clever, contemporary humor,” said Michael Wright, senior VP for original programming for TBA and TNT.
