During an uneventful Tuesday night in the Nielsens, Fox’s “American Idol” once again dominated.
“Idol” earned a 9.9 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary reports, followed by “House” demonstrating a 92 percent retention of the “Idol” audience with a 9.1. The ratings put Fox over the top among the demo and households for the evening.
ABC was second with a “Dancing with the Stars” recap (1.8) followed by the results show (4.1). A special “Primetime” on the Virginia Tech school shooting drew a 3.5 and won the hour.
Second-place CBS aired repeats. Fourth-place NBC had “Dateline” (1.6) and repeats.
In its first original telecast since early March, The CW’s “Gilmore Girls” had a 1.7, while “Pussycat Dolls” was up from last week to a 1.5.
