High-resolution Internet television can be commanded with a remote control now that Veoh Networks is collaborating with companies like AMD to bring more than 100,000 DVD-quality videos directly to the small screen.

Internet TV provider Veoh, using AMD’s Active TV solutions, will distribute videos from both major media companies and independent Internet video creators, with no restrictions on length.

“Internet television is all about choice: what to watch, when to watch it and what device to watch it on,” said Josh Metzger, senior VP of corporate development for Veoh Networks.

Bob Brewer, corporate VP of AMD’s desktop division, said, “Active TV solutions can seamlessly format and deliver TV-Web channels from the PC to a networked set-top box or device, revolutionizing the digital entertainment and media experience.”
