Sen. Barack Obama will make a cameo appearance on this weekend’s season premiere of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” a spokesman for the show confirmed.
Olympian Michael Phelps is scheduled to host the show, but Sen. Obama will appear in at least one sketch.
Details of his appearance were not immediately available, which is not surprising, given that “SNL” writers and producers assemble the show right up until airtime.
Sen. Obama appeared last appeared on “SNL” in November. His opponent, Sen. John McCain, has previously hosted the NBC late-night series.
Sen. McCain also appeared in two sketches on last May’s season finale of “SNL.” Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also popped up on the show this year.
