‘Marie’ Adds New York, L.A. Stations

Marie Osmond’s talk show, “Marie,” picked up two crucial markets, Los Angeles and New York, as the Program Partners-distributed program reached a 70% national clearance level, company principal Ritch Colbert announced today.

Program Partners hopes the newly added affiliate stations, Tribune’s KTLA-TV in Los Angeles and NBC’s WNBC-TV in New York, will continue the show’s momentum toward closing more markets in the next two weeks as “Marie” closes in on 80% coverage, Mr. Colbert said.
The terms of the deal are cash plus, meaning stations have paid cash license fees for “Marie,” but Program Partners is holding onto 3.5 minutes of barter advertising per hourlong episode.
Announced at last year’s NATPE, “Marie” easily cleared smaller and midsized markets, but stations and observers have been awaiting the announcement of the larger markets like New York.
Mr. Colbert said he believes a clearance in Chicago, the nation’s third largest market, is “days away.”
Production on the show is expected to take place in Las Vegas.
