May 19, 2009  •  Post A Comment

David Kenin, executive VP of programming for Crown Media Holdings, is leaving the company on May 31.
Barbara Fisher, senior VP of original programming, and Michelle Vicary, senior VP of acquisitions and scheduling, will take over Mr. Kenin’s position until a replacement is named.
Mr. Kenin was a driving force in the launch of Hallmark Movie Channel.
His decision to leave to the company follows the recent news that Crown Media President-CEO Henry Schleiff is stepping down May 31 as well.
“During David’s tenure, Hallmark Channel has become firmly established as a leading family-friendly entertainment channel while Hallmark Movie Channel has been successfully launched as an emerging network in high demand,” Bill Abbott, recently named president-CEO of Crown Media, said in a statement. “We thank this extremely talented media executive for his tremendous contributions to our company. David leaves us with a strong and experienced management team that is ready to meet the challenges ahead.”
