Nintendo’s Wii video game console could be gearing up to start streaming TV and movies, Daily Variety reports. In an interview with the trade publication, Lionsgate president of digital media Curt Marvis speculated that the Wii may begin streaming content by the end of the year, providing a “big marketplace for digital distribution.” While streaming via other popular consoles such as the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 is already available, the Wii is currently in 16.2 million households compared with 12.8 million for Xbox 360 and 6.3 million for the PS3, Variety adds.
