NBC appears to be serious about going ahead with a new mystery drama project. Variety reports that the Peacock Network ordered three additional scripts for “Conception."

The network has also created a small writers room for the project, which is executive produced by David Janollari with John Glenn and Lars Jacobson.

The story notes: “‘Conception’ turns on a mystery involving modern-day cases of immaculate conception and how those children are destined to change the world. The pilot has not been shot.”

The article adds: “NBC’s move to devote more development resources to the project is a good sign of the network’s interest in the concept, and an example of how the nets are breaking with pilot season conventions this year.”
