Jay Mariotti, a sports columnist best known for his appearances on ESPN’s "Around the Horn," has been suspended indefinitely by his other employer, AOL, following his arrest last week, according to TheWrap.

Mariotti, who has been a contributor to AOL’s Fanhouse feature, faces charges of domestic violence involving his girlfriend.

Commenting in an AOL statement, a spokesperson said, "We are continuing to gather all the facts. In the meantime, we have suspended Jay Mariotti and are not featuring any new work from him."

ESPN has not announced any official action regarding Mariotti, but a spokesperson for the network did confirm that when "Around the Horn" returns from a week off the air (while the Little League World Series tournament airs), Mariotti will not be on the panel.
