The dramatic end to the late NFL playoff game, in which the Green Bay Packers knocked the Philadelphia Eagles out of the playoffs 21-16, boosted Fox’s Sunday night lineup of animated shows in the Nielsen ratings, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

With overrun from the NFL game pumping up its numbers, Fox finished the night with a 7.1 average rating in the adults 18-49 demo, easily outdistancing the competition. ABC managed a 2.6 average while CBS settled for a 2.2 and NBC clocked in with a 1.8.

The outcome was similar in total viewers, as Fox came in well ahead of the pack with an average of 17.4 million to 10.3 million for CBS, 9.4 million for ABC and 7.0 million for NBC.

At 7 p.m. the overrun of the NFL game had a 13.0 average rating in the 18-49 demo for the top half of the hour; a combination of the game overrun and the "O.T." postgame show averaged a 11.0 in the same demo in the bottom half of the hour. ABC’s "America’s Funniest Videos" had a 1.8 for the hour, followed by CBS’s "60 Minutes" with a 1.6 and NBC’s "Dateline" with a 0.7, all three in the 18-49 demographic.

At 8 p.m. Fox’s "The Simpsons" and the premiere of "Bob’s Burgers" collected a 5.7 average rating and a 4.5, respectively, in the 18-49 demographic. ABC’s "Extreme Makeover" had a 2.6 for the hour in the 18-49, just a tad better than CBS’s "CSI: Miami" with a 2.5 in the same demo. NBC’s second hour of "Dateline" had a 1.5 in the 18-49 demo.

9 p.m. saw the premiere of NBC’s "The Cape," which managed only a 2.6 average in the 18-49 demo. That was last for the time period, which was topped by Fox’s "Family Guy" and "Cleveland Show" with a 4.7 rating and a 3.5, respectively, in the same demo. ABC’s "Desperate Housewives" earned a 3.8 in the 18-49 demo, while CBS’s "Undercover Boss" had a 3.0 in the same demo.

At 10 p.m. NBC’s "The Cape" was tops with 2.6 in the 18-49 demo, with ABC’s "Brothers & Sisters" getting a 2.3 in the same demo.
