ABC News is leaving the door open to a possible partnership with cable news outlet Bloomberg News, The New York Times reports in its Media Decoder blog.
That’s the word from Ben Sherwood, the new president of ABC News. Sherwood was asked about rumors of a partnership today during the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., and responded that he had “no news to break,” the story reports. But asked whether he is thinking about a Bloomberg partnership, he said, “Of course. How can you not think about partnering with an organization that has had the success Bloomberg has?”
“If we can partner on the digital side or the cable side, we must do that,” Sherwood added, but he also said ABC News can be successful without such partnerships.
The executive added that he has no plans for further layoffs at the news division.
