Sarah Michelle Gellar, who starred in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," is poised to make her return to broadcast television, with CBS picking up a drama pilot, its first this season, starring Gellar, reports Deadline.com.

Called "Ringer," the project stars Gellar as a troubled young woman who pretends to be her wealthy twin sister as a way to escape the mob, the story notes. Unfortunately, her sister’s life has a bounty on it too.

The project is from ABC Studios, CBS TV Studios and Brillstein Entertainment Partners and is written on spec by "Supernatural" writer-producers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, the article notes.

Since "Buffy" ended in 2003, Gellar’s only television role has been on the HBO pilot "The Wonderful Maladys.”
