Amid personal conflicts between "Nurse Jackie" co-creators and showrunners Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius, the pair will be leaving the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lionsgate is said to be seeking replacements as the show, which stars Edie Falco, awaits word on whether it will be renewed for a fifth season, the piece adds.

Wallem and Brixius were a couple before they created "Nurse Jackie," and were said to not be getting along, with the friction between them creating a challenging work environment for the show’s cast and crew, according to the report.

Wallem is currently in a relationship with singer Melissa Etheridge, the piece adds.

The fact that Lionsgate is seeking a candidate to take over as showrunner is a promising sign that the Showtime series may receive a renewal, the article points out.
