Actor Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam Evans on Fox’s "Glee," has closed a new deal with the show that will make him a series regular for the upcoming fourth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Overstreet was a regular on the show after joining midway through the second season, but then was not picked up for season three. In the interim he did a guest turn on ABC’s "The Middle" along with some recurring spots on "Glee."

He will now be a regular again the Fox musical dramedy, as one of the characters who are still attending McKinley High.

The characters played by Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith graduated at the end of last season, and while they’ll still be part of the show, they are not members of the New Directions glee club.

Fox will have all 15 of the "Glee" series regulars from season three coming back in some fashion in season four. The show is set to premiere in a new night and time slot on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 9 p.m. ET.
