The production offices of "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy were shut down for a few hours Monday afternoon after a white powder was discovered in a piece of mail, reports Deadline.com. An office worker opened a letter that contained a white powder that spilled out.

The person sending the letter had asked Murphy to read his script.

The police were contacted and as a precaution, the offices on the Paramount lot were evacuated. A HazMat team investigated, and according to LAPD spokeswoman Karen Rayner, it was determined that there was nothing hazardous in the substance.

The office staff for Murphy’s shows "Glee," "American Horror Story" and "The New Normal" were allowed to return to work later in the day.
