Dr. Drew Pinsky, the star of reality shows such as "Celebrity Rehab," turned down Lindsay Lohan’s father when he requested the doctor’s help in an intervention for his daughter, reports TMZ.com.

Michael Lohan told TMZ that Dr. Drew turned down the request because he was concerned that the troubled starlet would "freak" if she saw that he was involved, undercutting the mission of the intervention, the story notes. Pinsky recommended someone with a lower profile, the piece adds.

As previously reported, Michael Lohan staged the intervention on Friday, although police showed up after someone called to report trespassing, and Michael left her house soon afterward.
