ABC News veteran Barbara Walters, who presides over the morning chat show “The View,” was hospitalized over the weekend after falling down stairs at a pre-inauguration party, the New York Post reports.
Walters, 83, suffered a cut to her forehead, the piece reports.
Walters was attending a party at the British ambassador’s residence Saturday night when she tripped and fell. She was treated for injuries and released Sunday morning, but the network decided to cancel plans for her to cover President Obama’s inauguration today, the piece notes.
"Barbara is alert and telling everyone what to do, which we all take as a very positive sign," an ABC News spokesman said.
