The Discovery Channel will present a four-hour series about the people behind the U.S. presidency -- the White House Chiefs of Staff, reports TVNewser.com. “The President's Gatekeepers” will air in July.
The program will include insights from all 19 living former Chiefs of Staff, the piece says.
“Longtime ABC Newser Chris Whipple, now an independent producer, logged about 70 hours of interviews with members of this exclusive club for ‘The Presidents’ Gatekeepers,’” the story reports. “Viewers will hear from Chiefs ranging from Dick Cheney to Leon Panetta and Rahm Emanuel. Former presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush also weigh in.”
Whipple spent nearly 20 years at ABC News, most recently executive producing the “What Would You Do?” series before leaving network news about two years ago. Whipple also previously worked on ”60 Minutes” at CBS News.
