'Scary Movie' Beauty Makes Jump to TV, Joins New Chuck Lorre Comedy Project Deadline
Chuck Lorre, the man behind CBS sitcom hits "The Big Bang Theory," "Two and a Half Men" and "Mike & Molly," has cast actress Anna Faris in a new project for the network called "Mom," reports Deadline.com.
Faris is known for her work in the “Scary Movie” series and other feature films, including “Lost in Translation” and “The Dictator.” She has only a handful of guest spots on TV series, notably “Entourage” and “Friends,” along with a guest-hosting appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”
Lorre co-wrote the pilot for “Mom” on spec with Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker, the latter two from the "Two and a Half Men" staff.
"Mom" is the story of a Napa Valley single mom who's newly sober and trying to get her life together. Faris will headline the comedy pilot.
