Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron revealed that they will devote a part of the upcoming 85th Academy Awards television broadcast to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a statement, Zadan and Meron said, "Starting with ‘Dr. No’ back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon. We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday."

The latest James Bond film, "Skyfall," has been an international success, earning more than $1 billion at the global box office. It just received a Producers Guild Awards nomination and there’s a good chance Adele’s theme song for the movie will receive an Oscar nomination.

Daniel Craig is the current actor playing James Bond, following in the footsteps of Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.
