Canceled Show Gets a Reprieve as Network Reverses Decision

A drama series that was canceled back in January got a reprieve when the channel reversed its decision. B&C reports that Lifetime changed its mind and will keep “Drop Dead Diva” going.

As previously reported, the network canceled the program despite solid ratings to make room for other projects.

"Drop Dead Diva," which will now return for a fifth season, stars Brooke Elliott as an aspiring model whose soul gets trapped in the body of a brilliant, plus-sized attorney. The show’s fourth season averaged 2.3 million viewers, with its finale drawing a season-high 2.76 million viewers, B&C notes.

The Lifetime program is the second cable program to recently get a reprieve from cancellation, with AMC ordering a third season of "The Killing" earlier this year after canceling the series.

  1. Wow, this is awesome news. I am so happy!!!

  2. Wouldn’t NBC like a show that could get 2.3 million viewers regularly.
