A murder case that has captured national attention will get the TV movie treatment at Lifetime. TheWrap.com reports that the cable network has a project in the works about Jodi Arias, whose trial on first-degree murder charges in the death of her ex-boyfriend continues to be a focus on cable news channels.

Executive producers Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin and Judith Verno are putting together the project, the report notes. Verno previously served as executive producer on Lifetime’s "Drew Peterson: Untouchable" and "The Craigslist Killer."

Arias’ trial, which is getting a lot of coverage on HLN, has her accused of planning the June 2008 death of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, out of jealousy. Her story has changed, according to the article, with Arias first claiming she had nothing to do with the death, then saying it was intruders and eventually claiming self-defense.
