The syndicated entertainment program “Entertainment Tonight” is undergoing a shakeup behind the cameras. Writing on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that executive producer DJ Petroro is leaving the show and Brad Bessey, currently executive producer of the spinoff “The Insider,” is slated to take over the role.

In taking over the job, Bessey is taking on a role that was handled for many years by Linda Bell Blue, The Hollywood Reporter notes. She was promoted to head of Entertainment Tonight Studios in November.

Bessey has a long track record with “ET,” as he started working for the show as a coordinating producer in 1995 and moved up to supervising producer in 2000. In 2003, he was made senior producer and in 2005 became co-executive producer.

“He was part of the launch team for ‘ET’s' spinoff ‘The Insider’ and served as senior consultant on the show from 2004-2010. In 2010, Bessey left ‘ET’ when he was named executive producer of ‘The Talk’ for the CBS talker’s freshman season,” Deadline's Andreeva notes.

As part of the transition, Monique Chenault will join “The Insider” as co-executive producer, the piece adds. Linda Fuller, meanwhile, will remain with “ET” as executive producer.

“After more than 15 years in the ‘ET'-'Insider’ family, Brad knows ‘ET’ inside and out and is the perfect person to continue to grow the brand and keep the show on top,” Hilary Estey McLoughlin, president of creative affairs for CBS TV Distribution, said.
