Andy Samberg, the “Saturday Night Live” cast member whose departure from the sketch comedy show was announced just a week ago, has already landed another TV gig, Deadline.com reports.

Andy Samberg has inked a deal to play the title character in “Cuckoo,” a six-part BBC Three comedy series, the story reports.

In the program, Cuckoo is the new husband of a Englishwoman who returns home from college. The parents, played by Greg Davies and Helen Baxendale, are stunned by their new American slacker son-in-law. Ben Taylor will direct, based on a script by Robin French and Kieron Quirke.

Samberg can also be seen in Adam Sandler’s newest movie, "That’s My Boy," which is set to be released in movie theaters this week.
